It has been 4 months since I went to Malang and Batu last July. Never imagine it would be very crowded at the viewpoint just like this picture! But still, finally I was there!
As the title says, Bromo and The Squad! This travel journey has formed a very nice group of friendship that cherish one another until today. 2 guys are my office mate, 1 guy is a friend of my office mate, and the other 2 persons are couple, they are my highschool friend. I forgot, there was another 1 person who was my office mate too, but I do not think I could keep in touch with him again now. Asking why? I prefer not to tell, rather let me tell the bromo stories.
We had 3 days 4 nights, and here is the itinerary:
Day 1: Explore Batu city! We arrived at Malang around 8 AM and we went straight to have breakfast at the famous Bakso President. They have lot variation of gorengan.
Then we touched down Batu city which is just 30 minutes from Malang. We visited Omah Kayu, Jatim Park 2 (Batu Zoo and Museum Angkut). I forgot how much it cost but when you arrive at Jatim Park 2, they have price package for 2 or 3 places. We chose 3 places but then so many things to do but so little time we had. It took the whole day for us, even we could not visit all the corners. My suggestion is to visit Jatim Park very early in the morning until it closes. You can click their website here to see the attraction. Oh! we got like 10% or 15% discount by showing our citilink/sriwijaya boarding pass. Just make sure you keep it. Lol.

Day 2: After we finished visiting Batu city in day 1, we drived back to Malang city around 8PM. We stayed at 1 hotel room just for couple of hours before we were ready to go to Bromo Viewpoint area. At 1 O'clock in the morning we were going straight to Bromo with a jeep (we squeezed 7 persons! which I did not suggest, Lol! It fits best only for 5 persons, 1 person at the front and 4 persons at the back side). It took 2,5 hours to get to the starting point. It is better to go earlier so you do not have to hike to far until the Mountain Viewpoint.
Then i really did not expect that there were a lot of people there and very crowded!
If you noticed above picture, these guy's finger formed like 1,2,3. Lol. Nevermind! I just realized just now.
Then we moved on to another places guided by our jeep driver. Btw, this one day tour cost us IDR 1,200,000 per jeep for 7 persons. Again you better only fit 5 persons max in a jeep. The road was not always smooth and it was very bumpy.
If you want to get closer to the mountain, you will be brought here to trek to see what inside the mountain! You can opt for horse riding until the top but I did not see it is comfortable and safe as the the trek was very steep. But if you are not taking the horse, be prepare with a fit body. You will trek around 35 minutes until you get to the top.
Around 3 PM we went back to Malang, had some rest, and went back to Batu city! Lol. We could not waste every single time. We visited BNS (Batu Night Spectacular). This place was very interesting and worth a visit.
Day 3: Explore Malang and visit a cafè!
We did not do nothing much and only visited some souvenir stores and end up played werewolf card game in a good cafè.
Don't forget to have Rawon and Sate Kambing when you go to Malang and Batu!
Everytime I went travelling, I get to know different people around me. Friends of friends, and so on. This journey was really cherish me a lot as until now we still keep in touch with each other. I might never find this kind of group in the future so I feel very grateful for this journey!
